I want to wake up in the morning and want it. I want it to complement me. I want it to feel smooth and comfortable against my skin — not weigh me down when it is hanging over my shoulder. I want to know that it’s big enough to withstand the heavy things I sometimes fill it up with. And I may be a bit rough with it at times, but I still need its structure and base to remain strong. I need it to let me be me without covering me with a label that does not really represent me. I need it to be strong and true, and once it’s on me,  it needs to feel soft and comfortable. I know I can have it in every port, city and state…but a good one, a really good one, is hard  to come by.

Large Jude in Taupe with bamboo handles(pictured) or woven chain handles. Both include long straps inside bag. Available colors: Taupe, burgundy, black.

And at last I found it — a line of handbags that I want to grace my arm.   I found the one I want to wear with my favorite old T-shirt, jeans and boots, and my fancy dresses. The handbag that makes my outfit, without overstating it.  A handbag that reflects me and my style. A handbag that represents me, not the label.

I found the Tammilyn Handbag Collection.  A combination of Hippie-inspired hobo, infused with a bit of vintage rock and roll, these bags creates a vibe that enhances and complements your wardrobe rather then overshadowing it.

Tammilyn Carlisle, a San Fernando Valley native, has created and designed a line of handbags comprised entirely of rare Italian leathers.  The collection’s contents vary from minimalist patent leather clutches to structured metallic totes and voluminous leather shoulder and messenger bags.

Tomiko black patent

Tomiko black patent handbag.

So often purses and handbags are embellished with the designer’s labels and initials and have so much clutter attached, that it does not represent your personality and style. Your bag should reflect who you are and what you are wearing, blending in with your wardrobe and choices.

Tammilyn  describes the look and design of her handbags as “rare and luscious materials and leathers that evolve into interesting, yet clean silhouettes.”  Her designs are simple and sophisticated, earthy and contemporary.

Chocolate patent

Large Jude in Chocolate Patent with either bamboo or woven chain handles. Long strap inside. Available in chocolate honey, hunter, sangria and grey patents.

Strong yet subtle, modern, yet natural, Tammilyn’s purses create a beautiful backdrop for the woman who chooses them, letting the woman wear the bag, not the bag wear the woman.

The colors of the handbags are all rich in pigment, and the leathers are supple, voluminous and so very soft. Some have an equestrian feel and are perfect for this season’s riding boots. Some are a tad bit dressier, like the Tomiko and Turnlock clutch that is a little more modern and structured. The Pink Python Jude is one of my very favorites, with woven chain handles and a long strap to throw over your shoulder, if you want.

Angelina Jolie used her Tammilyn bag daily

Angelina Jolie is one of many celebrities who uses Tammilyn Collection handbags daily.

The best thing about this line is that Tammilyn’s bags all seem to go well with every single part of your wardrobe.  When your style is simple, you can grab your Tammilyn Jude bag, and still maintain that simplicity, but with a level of sophistication and effortlessness.

You can find yours (or for someone you hold near and dear)  at Lisa Rinna’s store,  Belle Gray.

The bags look amazing. I hope they bring the collection to Calabasas. I do agree, I do not care about “label” brands, I buy a bag because I like it.
