My Four-Legged Finds: Hugs and homes needed

What should you do if you see a dog on the road? I have found food to be my best friend in these cases! Get a leash, one that can easily slip over a dog’s head and approach slowly. Usually the dog will want the food more than he’ll want to harm you. Once you have the dog, take him to any vet to scan for a mircrochip if there is no tag. You can hold onto the dog, but make sure you put flyers up at the local shelters and in the area the dog was found. LA Times offers free ads for lost or found dogs and the internet has many great sites to post information as well. If someone insists the dog is theirs, make sure they provide proof! If no one comes forward, work with a local rescue group to help your new four-legged friend find a forever home.
