Blush Boutique makes an affordable, stylish mark (and great for gift giving) in Encino and Calabasas

With the holiday season here, it is often a struggle  to find the ideal gift at an affordable price.  Whether it is for a mother, sister, daughter, niece, or friend, Sherry Thomas-Blaka’s “Blush Boutique” may have just the solution.

For three years Thomas-Blaka has found success at Blush’s Encino location at Encino Place, which has led to the recent expansion of her business.  Just this past month, she opened another Blush Boutique in Calabasas.

According to Thomas-Blaka, Blush offers trendy clothing and accessories for women and teens.  And best of all, her stylish items retail at under $100.

“I’m a ‘people person’ and entrepreneur,” says Thomas-Blaka.  “I love providing everyday clothes at affordable prices.”

In order to provide her selection of seasonal trends, Thomas-Blaka shops at about 50-60 showrooms in Los Angeles on a weekly basis.  This is a continuous cycle that allows for Blush to supply the hottest looks of the moment, with about 40 new styles each week.

“I do my buying for ‘now,’ says Thomas-Blaka.  “I learn what my customers want and shop for them.”

Currently, popular items for this fall and winter include: a jersey zipper tunic ($46), a studded metal dress ($76), faux leather jackets ranging from $78 – $88, and jeans by “Blank Denim” ($82).

Blush not only provides reasonable prices and a warm shopping experience — Thomas-Blaka has developed a rewards program for returning customers.

“We have a great, loyal customer base,” says Thomas-Blaka.  “For them we provide a Blush Rewards card, and program 10% back after every purchase, with no expiration date.”

With her generous nature, Thomas-Blaka further reaches out to the community by giving to local charities and foundations.

“We make tons of donations with our leftover sale items,” says Thomas-Blaka. “We do lots with local schools, shelters, and organizations like One Generation, and we support Lydia Castro, a 84 Dollar Club member of Food on Foot who has started a separate charity to help homeless rejoin the work force.”

To her advantage, Thomas-Blaka collaborates with several young employees, each with a strong sense of fashion, and who are always aware of the latest trends.

“The girls that work with me are an extension of Blush,” says Thomas-Blaka.  “They have been very involved and treat the store as one of their own.  We are like a family.”

In fact, Deniz Senkan, one of the “Blush girls” has established a blog for Blush shoppers called “HAUS OF FASHION,” which can be located by this link: www.myblushboutique.blogspot.com.  Here, Senkan offers Blush’s latest updates, in addition to fashion tips on how to wear various items or achieve a certain look.
