This weekend in the 818 brings an eclectic mix of music, movies, festivals , fundraisers and one big sale for free or little cost.

The 1st Ever Studio City Music Festival: CBS Studio Center will be rocking on Saturday, August 7 beginning at 1 pm with the sounds of cool jazz, electric blues, indie rock, eclectic fusion and rock classics. Join the scene for music, food, drinks and fun! BBQ, beer, wine and cocktails will all be available for sale at additional cost.  This charity benefit event is presented by the Rotary Club of Studio City/Sherman Oaks. Proceeds will benefit Community Schools, Children’s Services, Homeless Programs and Elder Services. Admission: $22.50 per person. Groups of 20 or more $15 each. Garden Concerts for Kids at The Getty featuring Milkshake: Bring your kids to the  Garden Concerts for Kids music series at the Getty Center this Saturday and Sunday. The highlighted band this week is  Milkshake— rock n’roll for you and your kids. Abba Fever in Woodland Hills: It’s Mamma Mia at  Movies on the Green on Saturday from 7 to 10 pm and then on Sunday come back for Arrival, the world’s most popular ABBA Tribute Band  at 6 pm.  Bring a picnic and enjoy the sounds of the Dancing Queen. The Haberdashery Ensemble in Agoura: The Haberdashery Ensemble, an acoustic ensemble  known for their energetic, evocative and witty performances will perform at the Peter Strauss Ranch on Sunday, August 8 form 3 to 5 pm. Led by composer/bassist Brandon Turner, the Haberdashery Ensemble synthesizes their diverse and eclectic influences of Tango, Classical, Jazz, Folk, Gypsy, and French music with the precision of chamber ensemble. The Statmen play a play a fusion of bluegrass, swing, gypsy jazz and latin with original compositions.  Parking and admission are FREE! WORTH THE DRIVE: The 43rd annual Naval Base Ventura County Air Show The Air Show this weekend marks the 10th Anniversary of Naval Base Ventura County and is the 43rd air show held at Point Mugu. Highlighting this year’s show will be the USAF Thunderbirds flying the venerable and combat proven F-16 “Fighting Falcon.” The air show will also feature aviation simulators, current and vintage aircraft on static display, food and beverage booths and souvenirs.  Seabees and their construction equipment will be on display to show the role the Seabee play supporting operations through out the world, including Iraq and Afghanistan.
