The Weekend Cocktail: A recipe to toast Mexico's 200th Birthday!

This weekend many will celebrate the September 16 bi-centennial of Mexico’s independence from Spain! What better way to join in the festivities than with tequila, a staple of Mexican heritage? Cheers or should I say VIVA Mexico!

A La Vida Margarita

3 ounces 1800 Silver Tequila

½ ounce pear puree

½ ounce fresh limejuice

½ ounce triple sec

Preparation:

Combine ingredients and blend with ice, or shake ingredients with ice and serve on the rocks. Makes two cocktails!

Mexican Revolution

4 ounces1800 Silver Tequila

4 ounces orange juice

Splash grenadine

Combine tequila and OJ with ice and stir

Add grenadine for the “sunrise” effect. Makes 2 cocktails.
