Whether you are a photography collector, enjoy photography, or just want to experience pictures and stories that extend beyond your everyday existence, you won’t want to miss the 20th Annual Photographic Art Exposition, otherwise known as Photo LA, at the Santa Monica Civic this weekend.

As the the longest running art fair west of New York and the largest photo-based art fair in the country with over 10,000 attendees, Photo LA joins photography dealers from around the world, displaying the finest contemporary photography, video and multi-media installations, along with masterworks from the 19th century.
It’s all happening Thursday, January 13 through Monday, January 17. The weekend kicks off on Thursday with an opening fundraiser with proceeds benefiting LACMA’s photography program. Check out who you can hear throughout the weekend lecturing in special seminars here.
This year there is an added 7,000 square foot tented canopy entry which provides space for sculpture, installations, book signings and seating. Hang out in a expansive lobby that includes a Phaidon bookstore, sitting area, café, coffee bar and cupcake corner — or check out the VIP balcony lounge and video viewing area — if you have a VIP ticket, of course. Photo LA is the perfect weekend event for all ages.
