16th ANNUAL LOS ANGELES ART SHOW: It’s arts month in Los Angeles! Last week it was Photo LA and this week it’s the 16th Annual Los Angeles Art Show. Whether you are an art collector or an art lover, this grand scale art show at the Los Angeles Convention Center is the place to be. From Rembrandt to Ruscha and Beyond, view painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, and video, over 100 prominent galleries from around the globe. WALKING TOUR OF NOHO: The tour begins at the corner of Magnolia Blvd. and Tujunga St. at the statue of Amelia Earhart in North Hollywood Park. Tour highlights include: a walk through St. Paul’s First Lutheran Church with its beautiful stained glass windows, past the 1886 Southern Pacific Depot, the El Portal Theatre (1926), through the NoHo Arts District, the Lankershim Arts Center (designed by theatre architect, S. Charles Lee), and the Lankershim Elementary school where Marilyn Monroe once attended. Learn about real cowboys, pioneer families, movie television and recording stars, the Spanish conquest, Mexican ranchos, great steam trains, vast ranches and orchards, land barons, wars, and much more. The walking tours are directed by Richard Hilton, Chair, Events for The Museum, board member and who is also a long time docent of the Los Angeles Conservancy. Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Meet at Amelia Earhart statue at corner of Magnolia Blvd. and Tujunga Street Cost: $10 per person suggested donation.
