It’s Mini Pieapalooza Thursday, June 9 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Cafe Aldente in Studio City as Magpie Gourmet Mini Pie (with MDF resident chef Gwen Kenneally) hosts its first evening tasting event. Lemon, apple, blueberry and key lime Pie Holes (teeny tiny bite sized mini pies) will be on hand for you to sample for free. And don’t forget, Magpie Mini Pies are available fresh every Thursday starting at 11 a.m. in limited quantities, exclusively at Cafe Aldente. A portion from each pie sold goes to charity. Everyone gets a little piece of this pie. 12215 Ventura Blvd., Studio City (at the back of the Peets center).

Buttercelli Bake Shop is now open in Sherman Oaks. Word on the street is that this organic bakery is nothing short of scrumptious. They serve morning pastries fresh out of the oven, brownies, bars, cookies, cakes and even their own take on a pop-tart. Individual drip coffee is served all day long. Plus, there’s curbside service, order ahead and your sweets will be brought to you. 13722 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks,(818) 387-8538

Brats Brothers is moving down Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks to the space the formerly housed Max, Marche and the Ludobites pop-up. The larger space will come with more seating and a beer and wine service. They hope to be serving up their famous sausages in mid-August.

It’s June Un-Coupon  Burrito Wednesdays from  7 p.m. – 10 p.m. at Hugo’s Tacos in Studio City and Atwater Village.  Just say the secret word “Summer” before you order for half off burritos with fillings. Limit five per person.

Pinkberry has two rather amazing new creamy flavors — Salted Caramel and Watermelon. The mini size has only 90-110 calories.

Every Friday night is gourmet burger night at Olive & Thyme in Toluca Lake. It’s a revolving menu of three burgers.   Choose from bleu cheese with caramelized onions and hickory, heirloom tomatoes with white cheddar which are on the menu every week. The new burger this week is mushroom swiss. Pair it with wine or beer and finish your meal off with a sweet treat.

Trader Joes in Studio City is doubling its size. Construction just began on the former Blockbuster next door.
