The Great Wall of Los Angeles Community Picnic

Living History Day: It’s living history right in your backyard on Sunday from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Los Encinos State Historic Park. Enjoy an afternoon of traditional children’s games, music, a blacksmith, docents in 1870s attire and tours of the historic buildings., 16756 Moorpark St., Encino.  Free

The Great Wall of Los Angeles Community Picnic: Celebrate the restoration of the Great Wall of Los Angeles Mural on Sunday, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m., Located on Coldwater between Burbank Blvd. and Oxnard Street, it is the largest monument to inter-racial harmony in America today. The Social and Public Art Resource Center (SPARC) is presenting a three-hour celebration featuring keynote speakers, musicians and poets. Bring a blanket, picnic and enjoy the re-dedication of the longest mural in the world. Food trucks will also be rolling in. Free

Heal the Bay: Help the planet this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at California Coastal Clean Up Day 2011. Be part of this international effort and join 90 countries in honor of Oceans Day to clean up beaches in local communities. Choose from 60 locations along the coastline from Zuma to Seal Beach to pitch in. Registration is required. Get Them to the Greek: Get a taste of Greek food and culture without leaving Los Angeles at the 53rd Annual Pasadena Greek Fest this Friday to Sunday at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia. The event will feature Greek food, pastries, Olympic Taverna Sports Bar and Cigar Lounge, a wine chat, lectures, entertainment, cooking demonstrations and a kids zone. The Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival : It has it all — feast on Maine lobster, dance, enjoy parades and street performers, participate in a pirate camp, watch tall ships, shop for arts and crafts, and see some musical performances by some of incredible bands courtesy of KROQ.
