Weekend Cocktail: Guns and Rose’s Wango Tango

A few months ago I introduced you to a fantastic new Ventura Boulevard addition Fabien Castanier Gallery in Studio City. Last weekend was the opening reception for their newest show GUNS & ROSES featuring EDWARD WALTON WILCOX- Painting & Drawing, ELLWOOD T. RISK- Mixed Media Painting, TYLER SHIELDS- Photography, CARMEN SPERA- Sculpture.

I am not an art writer or an art critic, but it is another awesome showing of some very gifted artists. In my opinion, it is both edgy and poignant, evoking lots of emotions and sparked some wonderful conversation with my 15-year-old daughter. I believe that is what a great exhibit is all about.

“They each have really strong personalities and an individual approach to art. The idea is to have the artists challenge the notion of Guns & Roses, Hate & Love, and Fear & Beauty. I am thrilled to showcase these unique artists together for a compelling and powerful show,” says curator, Fabien Castanier.

A great opening reception is not complete without, of course, a signature cocktail. Once again the talented mixologists at Tres Sietes Tequila created another awesome drink that is slightly sweet with a little kick to finish. The exhibit runs through December 4.  Go see the show and then have some great conversation while sipping a Guns and Rose’s Wango Tango. Cheers!
