In certain parts of the world the weather might be frightful, but here in sunny Los Angeles it is more like a summer day. While I can’t send you blue skies, we can share this year’s amazing crop of citrus. This recipe calls for plain citrus, but you can play with Clementines, blood oranges and Meyer lemons. Mix and match and enjoy a little California sunshine! Cheers!

Tastes like summer.

SUNSHINE CITRUS SANGRIA

2 bottles white wine

1 cup Cointreau

1-cup brandy

Juice of 3 large oranges

Juice of 2 lemons

Juice of 4 limes

2 cups ginger ale

1 small orange, sliced thin crosswise

1 small lemon, sliced thin crosswise

1 small lime, sliced thin crosswise

Mix the wine, Cointreau, brandy, citrus juices, in a large pitcher. Refrigerate overnight. Immediately before serving, add in the ginger ale, orange, lemon, and lime slices. Serve in a pretty pitcher over ice. Serves 12
