The George Washington Cocktail

Most of us have a three-day weekend to honor our first President’s birthday.  George Washington was a whiskey distiller as well as a President, so we know he liked a nice drink. We’re garnishing with a cocktail cherry as a nod to the cherry tree he chopped down and then couldn’t lie about. Enjoy this holiday weekend in style! Cheers!

3 ounces dry vermouth

2 ounces brandy

½ ounce simple syrup

4 dashes Angostura bitters

In a mixing glass with ice, stir all ingredients together. Strain into two rocks glasses and serve with ice. Garnish with a cherry.
