One year after launching The Federal Bar on Lankershim, Knitting Factory Entertainment has confirmed it will open its second eatery—Bow & Truss this May 2012 at 11122 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood. This is the second restaurant for Knitting Factory Entertainment’s CEO Morgan Margolis, Bow & Truss features a tapas style Latin menu, a dossier of innovative craft cocktails and over 10 imported beers on draught. Stefhanie Meyers who worked under John Sedlar at both Rivera & Playa, and who most recently served as Chef de Cuisine of The Federal Bar, will serve as Bow & Truss Executive Chef. “The cuisine will consist of traditional Spanish influence with a modern flair and will focus around both tapas and family style plates,” explains Meyers.
More Noho Food Truck News: In addition to Dine Out Noho on Friday evenings, there’s a weekly Rush Hour Food Truck Lot on Wednesday evenings in the lot at The Other Door at 10437 Burbank Blvd. Check out a rotating bunch of trucks from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p. m. The Flatiron Truck will be a weekly regular.
Kids who love to cook can join Chef Eric Horwitz at Whole Foods in Woodland Hills for a lesson on how to make homemade pasta and a tasty marinara sauce from scratch. At noon, they’ll have an opportunity to watch Specialty Team Member Ivan crack a giant wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano. From March 8-14, Starbucks will feature a limited-time beverage offer to encourage customers to discover new espresso favorites. Customers can buy any espresso beverage before 11 a.m. and bring back their receipt to enjoy any hot or iced espresso beverage for half price after 2 p.m. that same day.
The besieged property of 8 1/2 Taverna in Studio City now has successors who will be putting in a “beer and wine eating place” according to a city filing. The restaurant has not yet been named.
Over in Calabasas, Tour Eiffel has closed up shop. Opening in its place is a new eatery called Pedaler’s Fork, described as a “farm to table restaurant partnered with 10 Speed Coffee Roasters from Hood River Oregon, serving craft beers, a fresh bar, and a boutique cycling shop.”
