Ramen Yamadaya is opening its fifth restaurant in  under two years on April 1 at 15030 Ventura Blvd  in Sherman Oaks, just east of Sepulveda. Other locations are in Torrance, Culver City, Westwood, and Costa Mesa.   Their specialty is Tonkotsu broth with ramen noodles. The rich flavored soup is cooked with pork bones after more than 20 hours of boiling. If ramen or pork isn’t your thing, there is also traditional Japanese bento boxes with chicken, fish and curry.  Prices are under $10.

My Daily Find Fave, Chef Amy Jurist of Amy’s Culinary Adventures, is having her 4th Annual Underground Decadent Bacon Dinner on Saturday April 21 at 7 p.m.  This is Amy’s most popular dinner and  includes seven appetizers and plated courses of outrageously delicious Bacony Delights, plus complimentary wine pairings with all courses, AND a custom cocktail created by Natalie Bose (aka The Liqiud Muse).  The exact location will be given a few days before the event, but a clue is that it’s at a very unique space in Culver City. Roy’s Restaurant just launched a new Spring Prix Fixe Menu, along with the return of guest-favorite, My Prix Fixe Mondays for $36.95 per person, as well as  the classic Aloha Hour options.    As part of the Spring Prix Fixe Menu, guests are invited to choose one of theselections for each course.  Appetizer options include Pea Salad & Crispy Pork, Seared Smoked Salmon and Kalua Pork Dim Sum.  Entrée choices consist of Hanger Steak “Frites”, Asian Pesto Grilled Chicken Breast and Pan Seared Trout.  For dessert, guests can choose from “PB & J” or the famous Roy’s Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé. For guests looking to sample items from the full menu, My Prix Fixe Mondays returns this spring for a limited time. Currently available at participating Roy’s mainland locations, each Monday, guests have the option to choose any three courses off Roy’s unique, local menus at the fixed price of $36.95 per person.  In addition, Roy’s will continue to offer their classic Aloha Hour. Traditionally a favorite among guests, Aloha Hour offers popular appetizers including Crunchy Golden Lobster Potstickers and the Tempura Crusted Spicy Ahi Roll alongside an array of hand-selected wines, beers, and specialty cocktails.
