Ciclavia: It's worth the drive downtown and then you can walk or cycle.

School of Rock at The NoHo Dine Out Friday:  Kids from School of Rock in Studio City will be showcasing their talent in a five piece band at  NoHo Dine Out in addition to food trucks and gift vendors. When/Where: The performance is Friday, April 13, 6 p.m. -7 p.m featuring a local teen rock band ages 8-18.    The weekly event is  5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. in the parking lot at 11452 Burbank Blvd., in North Hollywood.   A donation is made to local dog rescue groups from the proceeds.

Downtown Burbank ARTS Festival: The four-block show features more than 100 outstanding artists, as well as the next generation of talent from Burbank schools. Included will be paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, fine glass, woodwork, mixed-media and photography. Live entertainment, street painting, art demonstrations (including an 8-foot sandcastle) and free workshops will add to the fun Admission is free; food and other purchases cost extra.  When/Where: Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. San Fernando Boulevard between Magnolia Boulevard and Olive Avenue in Burbank.

Noho Dine Out for Charity:  Support Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles when you purchase food at this gourmet food truck event.  When/Where: Saturday, April 14, 5 p.m.-8p.m., Sears North Hollywood, 12121 Victory Blivd.

Artisan Market & Food Truck Frolic:   Enjoy food trucks this week while shopping.  Alberto’s Taco Truck, Korean BBQ -Asian Fusion, The “Back to School” Truck, and Shaved Ice will there. 18th Street Arts Center Art Night:  This popular ArtNight celebrates the creative process with an opening reception for the Alliance of Artists Communities’ Visions from the New California exhibition showcasing artists from across the state. Stay for open studios by local and international artists, art installations, live Brasillian percussion from Batuclada, and more. CicLAvia: It’s  the fourth  event for this giant block party downtown on Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. when 10 miles from East Hollywood through Downtown and to Chinatown and into Boyle Heights will be blocked off to traffic and turned into a place where people can bike, skate, walk and run.  Check out musicians playing classical, punk, brazilian, reggae, funk, and rock; watch jumpstyle, dance that incorporates hard beats and sharp, air-fueled movement; see solar-powered DJs, audio and visual artists, and activists for alternative energy and transportation; play or watch dodgeball games; watch Sound Forest,  an interactive sound installation using a combination of traditional percussion instruments and found objects;  participate in 10 Mile Bodies where people move through the Fashion District, connecting to one another with Velcro, zippers, buttons, and string; play street chess, with a 9’x 9’ board and pieces measuring 2-3 feet tall;  get your photo taken in a photo booth on wheels that travels the CicLAvia route, taking photos upon request, which subjects can download later, free of charge…. plus more.
