“We women of one country will be too tender of those of another country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.”
-Julia Ward Howe, Mother’s Day, 1819
What would be an awesome accompaniment to the Mother’s Day waffle bar that we printed earlier this week? A lovely sweet and savory take on the classic mimosa! Celebrate all of the women who have mothered you and who are special in your life. And a special shout out to my mommy, Katherine Kenneally! Cheers!
The Julia Ward Howe Mother’s Day Cocktail
1 part chilled carrot juice
1 part fresh squeezed orange juice
4 parts champagne or prosecco sparkling wine
(Ginger ale or fizzy cider for the kids and non-drinkers so all can participate in the celebration)
Dash of cayenne
Garnish: orange slices
Mix and serve in chilled champagne glasses.
