Loteria Grill is offering a three course ‘executive’ lunch menu for $13 per person from 11:30 am- 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The menu changes specials daily and comes with a starter salad, entrée (taco plate, beef meatballs in chiptle sauce, paella Mexicana, chile rellano, chicken breast plate) and a dessert. Le Sanglier in Tarzana is having their monthly wine dinner tomorrow, September 26. Start with Mise en Bouche Hors d’ouvres, followed by Phyllo-Wrapped Jumbo Prawns with carrot Reduction Couscous. It’s a four-alarm culinary gathering at Saddle Peak Lodge in the Calabasas hills (on the way to Malibu) on Saturday, September 29 at 12 noon for its Golden State Beer Luncheon featuring the handcrafted beers of L.A.’s own Fireman’s Brew (the motto is “extinguish your thirst”). The cost for the five-course pairing menu is $50 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Tax and gratuity not included. Fireman’s Brew is a San Fernando VAlley based brewery founded in December 2000 by a pair of L.A. firefighters. Saddle Peak Executive Chef Christopher Kufek, along with Sous Chef Jaron Gugliuzza, have created a savory five-course afternoon pairing menu that includes Roasted Beet Salad with Chenel Goat Cheese; Albacore with Papaya, Jalapeño Sorbet, Rice Crackers,Red Onion Marmalade, Mâche and Garlic Chips; Glazed Chicken Thighs with Panisse, Greek Yogurt, Gravy and Brussels Sprouts; and Braised Beef Short Ribs with Truffled Pommes Puree,Creamed Corn and Parsnip Chips. Dessert is Tiramisu with Chocolate Chantilly.
Prizzi’s in Toluca Lake is having a wine pairing dinner featuring Russian River Vineyards this Saturday, September 29. Appetizers start at 6:15 p.m. with dinner at 7 p.m. Start off with roasted red and yellow beets layered with goat cheese drizzled with our house made balsamic reduction and topped with candied walnuts; followed by vegetable mélange ravioli;the main entree is Belgian brisket; the dessert is chocolate mousse garnished with an uncured apple-wood smoked, chocolate dipped bacon strip.
