It’s a four-alarm culinary gathering at Saddle Peak Lodge in the Calabasas hills (on the way to Malibu) on Saturday, September 29 at 12 noon for its Golden State Beer Luncheon featuring the handcrafted beers of L.A.’s own Fireman’s Brew (the motto is “extinguish your thirst”). The cost for the five-course pairing menu is $50 per person with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Tax and gratuity not included. Fireman’s Brew is a San Fernando VAlley based brewery founded in December 2000 by a pair of L.A. firefighters. Saddle Peak Executive Chef Christopher Kufek, along with Sous Chef Jaron Gugliuzza, have created a savory five-course afternoon pairing menu that includes Roasted Beet Salad with Chenel Goat Cheese; Albacore with Papaya, Jalapeño Sorbet, Rice Crackers,Red Onion Marmalade, Mâche and Garlic Chips; Glazed Chicken Thighs with Panisse, Greek Yogurt, Gravy and Brussels Sprouts; and Braised Beef Short Ribs with Truffled Pommes Puree,Creamed Corn and Parsnip Chips. Dessert is Tiramisu with Chocolate Chantilly.
