HOLIDAY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: THE BIG SUNDAY HOLIDAY LIST: This community service organization has nearly 125 different ways for you to help this year ranging from providing Thanksgiving dinner to people with disabilities to giving gifts to homeless kids at Christmas, hosting a food drive with your office, school or faith group, singing to seniors on Hanukkah or shopping at a holiday bazaar to benefit people in need. The list is updated weekly and has volunteer opportunities for all ages.

Twilight Party Big Sugar Bakeshop: This Studio City bakery is celebrating the newest member of the Cullen Family from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. There will be games and prizes, plus Twilight desserts will be offered all week.

Kick-off the Holidays: Westfield Topanga is celebrating on the lower level from 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. with carolers, complimentary hot chocolate, an appearance by Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi from Shahs of Sunset, Dance Dimensions, a live performance by Sonia Rao from Season 1 of The Voice and Holiday Story Time. At 5:45 p.m. Santa will arrive and the tree lighting will begin.

Food Drive-Thru: It’s the first annual drive-thru food drive and taking place at the Calabasas Commons on November 17-18 from 9-5pm each day. The charity event is staffed by volunteer Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts… Kids ages 6-17. Donors can drive through a part of the Commons parking lot, and hand non-perishable food donations to a volunteer Scout. The food will be delivered to the West Valley Food Pantry the next day.
Berman Ceramics Sale: L.A.’s longest running arts studio (and one of MDF’s first finds!) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. This weekend marks the annual holiday sale showcasing works by 19 local potters an sculptors. For those who are tired of mass-produced gifts, dinnerware and home décor items that have little personality, the annual holiday sale at Berman Ceramic Arts in North Hollywood is showcasing hand-crafted works by talented local artists is a must-visit event. From functional serving pieces to lyrical vases and abstract sculptures, the exhibit will feature an eclectic range of artistic styles and perspectives.
