Starbucks Evening Stores are only open in two locations in California — Rancho Santa Magarita and right here in the 818 — in Calabasas (Creekside Village Shopping Center, 26531 Agoura Road). ”Evening” means wine and select food ordered with the counter barista. The after 4 p.m. menu includes a mix of bites, apps and small plates. The selection includes: Warmed Rosemary and Brown Sugar Cashews, Crudités and Smoky Chipotle Hummus Dip, Blue Brie Cheese with Toasted Walnut Cranberry Bread and Fig Preserves, Parmesan-Crusted Chicken Skewers with Honey Dijon Sauce, Chicken breast with a parmesan and panko breading, Bacon-Wrapped Dates with Balsamic Glaze, Truffle Mac & Cheese and a few flatbreads.
Also in Calabasas, for everyone who’s been asking “When is Pedaler’s Fork opening?” According to marketing director Gideon Kleinman, the target date is February 4, 2013. This farm-to-table restaurant will cater to cyclers as well as gourmands and coffee drinkers (they’ve got Ten-Speed Coffee).
Sherman Oaks based Brats Brothers in opening their second location in Newbury Park this Thursday, December 20, replacing Old Lamp Post Pizza. They’ll be serving up their gourmet bratwursts and famous sides, such as spaetzle, and a wide selection of beers. The opening party will have lieve entertainment.
La Frite in Woodland Hills will close its doors on December 31 after 40 years in operation, but all is not lost because the Sherman Oaks location will remain open with promises of expansion and enhancement. Gordon Ramsey already had his way with it in Kitchen Nightmares, so we wonder what’s next.
