Osteria Coppola in Sherman Oaks seems to have suddenly shut down as paper is now covering its window. Perhaps that’s just an ill-fated location having previously housed Panini Cafe and Pomodoro. Another business has taken out a business license, but has yet to declare what it will be. You can still dine on Tino Coppola’s cuisine at Mulholland Grill at the Beverly Glen Centre.
Long time MDF fave Chef Amy Jurist is back with her famous Decadent Underground Dinner on February 16. And in honor of Valentine’s Day, the theme is “Bite Me.” Enjoy a complimentary cocktail and wine pairings through dinner. There’s seven courses of appetizers and plated servings with complementary wine pairings throughout the meal. Singles, couples, groups of friends — everyone is welcome. Construction looks like it recently started on the fast casual Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries at the Encino strip mall center next to Land Rover. It’s a 30 year old east coast franchise that’s making it’s way into Southern Calfornia. Encino will be its first stop in the 818. Another location is planned in Woodland Hills.
Apparently, some kind of “wing” fever flying into Sherman Oaks. Hot Wings Cafe is coming to 4609 Van Nuys Blvd. moving into the old Cafe 50′s location just north of Moorpark.— and at the Sherman Oaks Galleria, the long empty Townhouse space will be replaced with another sports bar/restaurant — the Ohio-based Buffalo Wild Wings.
