Super Bowl Sunday:  If you’re planning to watch the game , but want to get out of the house, check out these sports bars and gastropubs across the 818.

Menopause the Musical at the El Portal: Here’s the perfect girls night out!  This is  the story of four women at a lingerie sale with nothing in common but a black lace bra and  memory loss, hot flashes, night sweats, not enough sex, too much sex and more! This  musical parody  has been a traveling hit for over ten years and is set to classic tunes from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.  Through February 3.

Shirley Valentine at the Falcon Theatre: Written by Willy Russell and directed by Andrew Barnicle, this is the fourth production of the Falcon Theatre’s 2012-2013 subscription season and opened on January 30. This critically acclaimed Tony-nominated one-woman show stars DeeDee Rescher, who is best known for her comedy work on screen in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and King of Queens, but was last seen on the Falcon stage in Garry Marshall’s own Everybody Say “Cheese!” in 2009. Through March 3.

Valley Performing Arts Center: Jazz great Branford Marsalis, a three-time Grammy Award winning saxophonist, Tony Award nominee composer and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master, will be performing with his Jazz Quartet at CSUN’s Valley Performing Arts Center in the Great Hall, this Saturday, February 2 at 8 p.m.

RocketFizz Woodland Hills: There’s lot of fun happening at this RocketFizz location owned by The Jumbo Circus’ Phillip Briggs. This Saturday (and every Saturday this month!) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. get a little rock n’roll mixed with magic. Come back on Sunday at 2 p.m. for their Sunday Fundays. Check out their free weekly variety show “Safari So Goody” with Creekbird on Ukulele and a man in a chimp suit banging on bongos. And of course, there’s loads of candy, soda pop and just plain fun. That’s what happens when a clown owns a retro candy and soda shop!

First Annual LA Art Book Fair: Free and open to the public, the LA Art Book Fair is a unique event for artists’ books, art catalogs, monographs, periodicals, and zines presented by 220 international presses, booksellers, antiquarians, artists, and independent publishers from twenty-one countries.February 1-3, at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA.

Harry Potter-themed Scavenger Hunt: It’s a Hogwarts adventure for kids (10 & up) and adults at The Getty this . Follow in the footsteps of young wizards on a field trip in search of art that echoes characters, places and enchanted objects in the famed Harry Potter books and movies. The hunt is not an addition to or variation on Harry’s adventures, but instead references to the books will provide a surprising bridge to many strange and wonderful works of art. It’s a great way to discover—or rediscover—the museum. This hunt is designed for kids and adults to do together, but all-adult teams will be allowed to compete separately. Kids must be accompanied by adults. Price includes museum admission. Advance purchase is required via our website. Questions? Call 877-9GO-HUNT.

Calabasas Hike: Meet the Dusky-Footed Woodrat on his own turf on Saturday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Take a tour of the neighborhood where they build elaborate nests that are both a home and a time capsule. Easy 1 mile walk. Meet at the parking lot to left of pond.
