Join the AJU Choir and the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony, Dr. Noreen Green, Conductor, with the Bel Air Church Vocal Ensemble, directed by Dan Korneychuk, for a transformative evening of music that reflects movement from the nadir of adversity into a joyful place of freedom and light. Featuring music composed and arranged by Julius Chajes, Andrea Clearfield, Anna Drubich, Sharon Farber, William Hilsley, Lucas Richman, and David Shukiar. Guest artists include Grammy Award-winning soprano Hila Plitmann, highly acclaimed baritone Ron Li-Paz and internationally recognized cellist Evgeny Tonkha.
The featured work, William Hilsley’s Seasons, traces the path of one man, a prisoner of war, from his internment through freedom to a renewal of his life. This universal theme of healing is also explored in Anna Drubich’s powerfully moving Kaddish (US premiere), given its world premiere last year in Kiev before an international audience of dignitaries, including President Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as part of the 75th anniversary commemoration of the infamous massacres at Babi-Yar.
Reserved seating is $18 (concert only) and $36 (preferred seating and post-concert reception). Discounts are available for groups of eight or more. Tickets available through AJU-Whizin Center at 310.440.1572 or can be purchased online at wcce.aju.edu. For more information or questions, call 818.646.2844.
