Shop for a Cause: Circle of Care Leeza’s Place hosts fundraising boutique (with food trucks!) this Thursday and Friday
BY MY DAILY FIND STAFF
To commemorate November as Caregiver Awareness Month, Circle of Care Leeza’s Place (COCLP) will host their first annual Boutique For A Cause on Thursday, November 12 and Friday, November 13 between 11 am-3 pm. Circle of Care Leeza’s Place is located at 5000 Van Nuys Boulevard in Van Nuys. Leeza Gibbons founded Leeza’s Place as a non-profit organization after her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.

Leeza Gibbons and artist Susan Rios stand in front of Rios' original painting, A Caregiver's Oasis, created especially for Circle of Care, which is the focus of merchandise line launching at the boutique to benefit Circle of Care Leeza's Place.
The boutique will showcase many local vendors’ decorative jewelry and accessories, infant and children’s clothing and artwork, as well as beautifully handmade crafts created by Circle of Care Leeza’s Place guests. It’s the perfect place to start your holiday shopping and you’ll be doing it to benefit a most worthy cause.
Signed copies of Gibbons’ latest book, Take Your Oxygen First, will also be available for purchase. The book focuses on honoring the role of caregivers by demonstrating how to protect your health and happiness while caring for a loved one with memory loss.

Jewelry, like this handmade silver heart, by artist Susan E. Green, will be sold for a cause.
The Boutique will also launch A Caregiver’s Oasis merchandise line, featuring and named after nationally recognized artist Susan Rios’ original painting. The products include: candles, canvas bags, fleece blanket, mugs, music boxes, stationary and water bottles.
“This beautiful piece from Susan Rios speaks to the tranquility we all seek and the peacefulness that is often elusive to caregivers,” said Gibbons. “I hope it is a reminder that each of us is worth investing time in ourselves to replenish and nourish our souls.”
“In my painting, I wanted to create a place where you could feel safe. Every one of us faces challenges, and what I think gets us through is connecting to each other, to nature, to things familiar,” said Rios.

Muse Silk Paintings scarves by artist/designer Angel Ray will be available for purchase.
To fill hungry shoppers with food fun, the Barbie’s Q (bbq) truck will be out on Thursday from 11:30 to 2 pm, while the Cool Haus ice cream truck will be stopping on Friday from 12:30-2:30 pm.

Bronze coin necklace by local artist Alexandre Remington Taylor.
Boutique for a Cause will directly benefit COCLP, a resource and support center for family caregivers who are impacted by a loved one with a memory disorder or chronic illness. All COCLP programs are designed to educate, empower and energize families while assisting them on their challenging journey.
“The Boutique is a wonderful opportunity to bring people into our doors and promote awareness about our services for families as well as raise funds for much needed support,” said Stefanie Elkins, Leeza Care Advocate at Circle of Care Leeza’s Place.

Feather hair flowers by artist Rebecca Spina of Cherry Blossom Jewelry is a popular gift.
COCLP is generously supported by Circle of Care Foundation in partnership with the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation.
