Universal CityWalk’s “Summer Block Party,” a FREE summer marathon of music and movies, continues to present nightly non-stop entertainment, featuring top tribute band concert performances, the ever-popular free outdoor movie night, all-new swing dance lessons, star-turning talent competitions and more, through August 30.

Mondays: Summer Dance Crew Competition: 7 – 10 p.m.

  • Dance crews compete for $5,000, year of unlimited classes at L.A. famed dance studio, Millennium, private instruction session with Shane Sparks and a chance to dance on the “American Best Dance Crew” stage.

Semifinals are every Monday through August 17. Competition concludes on August 24 with finals on the CityWalk stage.

Tuesdays: Summer Night Swing: 7:30 – 10 p.m.

  • Swing bands perform with free professional swing lessons at 7:30 – 8 pm and 8:45 – 9:15 pm

August 4 – Wiseguys

August 11 – Phat Cat Swinger

August 18 – Flattop Tom & His Jump Cats

August 25 – Barrel House Boys

Wednesdays: CityRock Live!: 7:30 – 10 p.m.

  • So. California bands compete for cash and recording deal with 98.7 RockStar Competition.

Competition begins Wednesday, July 15 and continues each Wednesday through August 26. The Finals for the competition will be held Saturday, September 26 at CityWalk.

Thursdays: Big FREE Outdoor Movie Night; 7:30 – 10 p.m.

  • Drive-in movie minus the car. Guest s are invited to bring comfy lawn chairs to watch favorite movie for free and under the stars on one of So. Cal’s largest outdoor screen.

July 30 – “Goonies”

August 6 – “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa”

August 13 – “Grease”

August 20 – “Hannah Montana: The Movie”

August 27 – “High School Musical 3: Senior Year”

Fridays: Flashback Fridays; 7:30 – 10 p.m.

  • Songs from the 70s, 80s or 90s will rock CityWalk in musical entertainment that will appeal to everyone.

July 31 – Powder, opening for The Sweet

August 7 – The Bionics, opening for The Sounds of the Supremes with Kaaren Ragland

August 14 – Benny Mardones, opening for The Motels

August 21 – Non-P, opening for Thelma Houston

August 28 – Bonfire – A Tribute to Early AC/DC, opening for Adler’s Appetite with Steven Adler

Fridays and Saturdays: Silk Sisters; 8 – 9 p.m.

  • Aerial acrobats grace Cinema Plaza on Friday and Saturday nights as a powerful and beautiful female duo glides, tumbles and gracefully sways above CityWalk. Guests will experience the excitement and adventure of beautiful aerial art.

Saturdays:  Celebrity Band Saturdays; 7:30 – 10 p.m.

  • Sundays on CityWalk have a Latin appeal with the return of Descarga en CityWalk con Telemundo y Mun2, featuring a dynamic mix of live Latin bands performances and celebrity guest appearances.
