Do you ever find yourself at the movies,  watching yet another underwhelming romantic comedy or predictable thriller and wondering, “Who writes this garbage?!” or “I could write a better story than that while blindfolded!”

Have you ever wanted to make a movie but didn’t know where to start? Perhaps the forthcoming Filmmaking for Dummies –  a seminar and networking event might get things happening for you. Think of it as a crash-course in filmmaking plus a healthy dose of motivation.

San Fernando Valley resident Bryan Michael Stoller, a  producer, director and writer for TV and film,  and the author of Filmmaking for Dummies (which is in its updated second edition with a foreward by Jerry Lewis), will be bringing some answers live  in a special seminar to be held in Universal City on August 19.

The book has been heralded as an essential event for actors, producers, directors, or writers who want to learn how to produce their own independent film on a low budget. Whether you have a budget of $1000 or a million, Stoller says he will explain the tricks of the trade to get your movie made.

Over the past 25 years, Stoller has produced over 150 productions which include feature films, made-for-TV movies, commercials, documentaries, music videos and comedy shorts. Stoller says he began his career at the age of eleven, hosting his own network show entitled Filmfun. He has lectured all over the world, including Canada, Germany, Italy and, of course, Los Angeles.
