I recently catered the opening party for Jenette’s Bras,  an amazing new store over the hill on Melrose. A team of mixologists created a signature cocktail — The Lavender Strap — to play on the store’s name, of course!

There were a few ingredients that I had never heard of so I got the scoop from Aaron Nobel one of the drinks creators.  Lavender syrup ordered online from:

Parfait Amor is a somewhat like blue Curacao with more finesse. We’re using Marie Brizard which we heard was better than Bols. It can be obtained here:

For the non-drinkers,  we served sparkling water with a splash of Sence rose water and cranberry juice!

Both are great for sipping on hot August nights! I got to design stylish hors d’oeuvres to compliment these sensual beverages.

The Lavender Strap

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice mix in:

4 ounces Absolute Citron or other lemon vodka

1 ounce Parfait Amor

1 ounce Lavender infused simple syrup

1/2 ounce Cranberry juice

Shake well.

Rim two martini glasses with equal parts of lemon & cranberry juice and place top of the glass on a flat plate with fine sugar, twist to cover the rim with sugar. Finish with a healthy squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprig of lavender.
