Okay, so there I was sitting in the chair of hair guru Allen Edwards, ready for my close-up.  I decided I wanted to do something completely different with my hair, so  when I heard that Edwards himself was available, I thought why not try the legend himself? I thought this fact alone was worth the “find.”

Allen Edwards and client, Leyla Milani, door #13

Allen Edwards and client, Leyla Milani, famous for her lioness mane ( a la Edwards' Farrah cut), is also known as Lucky 13 on "Deal or No Deal."

Indeed, owner/celebrity hairdresser Allen Edwards is still cutting hair after 35 years in the business.  An internationally renowned image-maker and business leader, he has styled some of the world’s most glamorous and fashionable women.   He made is initial mark as the creator of the Farrah Fawcett layered cut, a trend that still exists today. He also engineered the dramatic improvement of Assistant District Attorney Marcia Clark’s style by giving her a fashionable new hairdo during the infamous O.J. Simpson murder trial. He was the first to turn hair shows into rock venues and changed the world of beauty, armed with shears, a blow dryer and the force of his dynamic personality.

Edwards’ secret to remaining an industry leader in the competitive world of hair and beauty is that he and his staff customize every captivating hair style and color for each client, and his styling team emphasizes the importance of keeping your look updated.

The spa at Allen Edwards is offering a special

It's a Spa Find! Allen Edwards is offering “De-Stress for Less!” — a special 60 minute relaxation massage for $60.

“When a client says that they love the way they look and feel, I know my team and I have done our job.  This has always been my goal,” Allen explains.

This certainly was the case for this reviewer, who sat in the famous hairstylist’s chair and joked, “Do your worst!”  Within an hour, twenty year’s worth of long, lustrous locks was razored, trimmed and cut away. The outcome? A younger-looking me!

Edwards’ salons in Woodland Hills and Brentwood have highly trained and skilled stylists who keep the emphasis on sexy hair with their bang-up blowouts, extensions, deep-conditioning treatments and flattering cuts and color.

Always at the forefront of innovation, the beauty industry icon has just launched a new hair product collection called “Allen Edwards Shear Force, ” which will be featured on ShopNBC September 25.  The thirteen-product collection incorporates brand new technology and delivery systems to maximize the silky softness of your hair.  The Deep Moisture Shampoo is created with Shear Force’s exclusive Marula oil, harvested when ripe from the African fruit tree and Moringa Seed.  Known as a miracle oil, Marula penetrates deep to help heal hair follicles, imparting antioxidant protection for a strong, youthful shine.  Other Shear Force hair products include Deep Thermal Treatment Conditioner and Thickening Spray Mist.
