In the last few months we have seen an increase in burglaries in the southern section of the North Hollywood Division. The method these suspects are using is unique. They are knocking on doors and checking to see if anyone is home. If no one answers they may go to the back yard and break in through a window or door. They also may not break in at that time, but record the time and day no one answered and possibly come back another day to commit the burglary.
We are seeking your assistance in identifying these suspects. There has been sightings decribing the suspects as a black male and female. They have been observed knocking on doors and utilizing cell phones.
If someone knocks on your door whom you do not know, do not open the door, but be sure they are aware that you’re home. If you see someone at a neighbor’s doing the same thing, keep an eye on them and try to alert other neighbors. If you feel that something is wrong, call police dispatch at 877-ASK-LAPD (877-275-5273). If you see them go into the backyard or attempt to enter a home, call 911.
If you see a vehicle that the suspects left in and it does not appear a crime occurred, call your Senior Lead Officer or the Senior Lead Office at 818-755-7679. If you are able to obtain the license plate number, it would assist us greatly assist us. Please do not compromise your safety.
