Street Eatz: Food trucks roll into Calabasas for one day only

Some of my most exciting days in the San Fernando Valley is when I spot a food truck. And as some know, I have actually been known to follow them — literally (okay, so I have no life).  Most trucks seem to favor Downtown, Hollywood and the Westside. There’s only a handful that make appearances in the East Valley, but where the West Valley and North Valley are concerned, the trucks rarely make it out to those areas. I’ve come across many blank stares from Valley residents who have no idea what I’m talking about.

World Fare, the first "bus-taurant," usually on the streets, will roll down the 101 for Street Eatz at the Calabasas Commons on July 1.

But, that’s all changing — if for one day only — some select trucks will be gathering at the Calabasas Commons (from Rite Aid to Barnes and Noble) for Street Eatz on  Thursday, July 1  from 5 to 8 pm.

Trucks on site will include Dumpling Station, The Grilled Cheese Truck (a big My Daily Find fave),  Komodo, Crepe ‘n Around, The Sweets Truck, World Fare (actually a double decker “bustaurant”),  Slice Truck, The Manila Machine (the first Filipino food truck).

A DJ will be siding up to the trucks to serenade the food frenzy. Eat and roll. Rock on.

Street Eatz: Food Trucks at The Commons at Calabasas, 4799 Commons Way, Calabasas. Thursday, July 1, 5-8pm.
