ART FESTIVAL IN T.O.: The 7th Annual Thousand Oaks Arts Festival will take place on September 11 and 12, 2010 at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and The Lakes from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.More than 60 visual art exhibitors, continuous live performances, children’s hands-on artistic and interactive art exhibits, raffle to include the work of Scott Medlock, Jane Seymour and Ron Souza, wine Tasting at The Lakes, gourmet food trucks, FREE Admission and Parking.

OVER THE HILL— OPA!: It’s the 12th Annual LA Greek Festival hosted by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson. This year’s theme for the weekend long event is “Passport to a Grecian Holiday.” Food booths will spotlight Greek food specialties — it’s a culinary fantasy  from Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, Saloniki and other exotic Hellenic destinations.  An added addition is“TUNICS,” a sports bar offering continual broadcasts of weekend football games. Also featured are Greek beers, wine and Metaxa cocktails. It’s a weekend of food, fun and dancing! The festival is located at St. Sophia Cathedral: 1324 S. Normandie Avenue, (corner of Pico and Normandie). Free and secure parking will be available nearby and shuttle service will be offered continuously to satellite lots. The Fest runs 5:00 pm -11:00 pm on Friday Sept. 10; Saturday Sept. 11, 1:00pm-11:00 pm & Sunday Sept.12, 12 noon -10 p.m. Admission for adults on Friday night is $3; Saturday and Sunday admission is $5. (Kids under 12 are admitted free of charge all weekend long).
