The Weekend Cocktail: The Mistletoe Martini

In Pre-Christian Europe the mistletoe plant represented the divine male energy. According to popular culture two people who meet under the mistletoe are obligated to kiss. I don’t know about the power of a plant, but I know after one of these mistletoe martinis there could be a lot of something -“something going on.” Seriously though, this cocktail is made so festive because the grenadine sinks to the bottom of the martini glass and it is a layer of red and a layer of green. It is a fun  cocktail to share with friends or even that special someone! Cheers!

Mistletoe Martini

8 ounces vodka

1 ounce melon liquor such as Midori

Splash of grenadine

Mix the vodka and melon liqueur in a martini shaker.

Strain into two martini glasses. Add grenadine. The grenadine will sink to the bottom of the glass making the drink red and green.
