The Weekend Cocktail: Acai and Pomegranate Martini

As we begin a new year I am continuing to eat mindfully and exercise regularly. What about weekend cocktails? Well…I am not going to ever tell you that there is a “healthy” version. Alcohol is made with lots of sugar. Just like over the holidays when I suggested a hot toddy over eggnog or a glass of red wine over a glass of white! This martini does have some wonderful health benefits. The acai berry and pomegranate are full of powerful antioxidants and orange juice is full of vitamin c. Lot’s of great things for the body. So as we start the new decade I say eat well, move around have an occasional cocktail, laugh with friends and live a rich full life! Cheers!

Acai and Pomegranate Martini

3 ounces Acai Berry Juice

3 ounces Pomegranate Juice

3 ounces Orange juice

3 ounces Vodka

1-teaspoon limejuice

Add juices and vodka to a shaker. Add ice and lime juice and shake vigorously. Pour and serve with a lime twist garnish.

For a non-alcoholic martini — simply omit the vodka for a refreshing cocktail!
