I know my east coast friends might think I am such a crybaby, but it has been really cold here in Southern California! Hard to believe that it is almost March! I love green tea and I can drink it all day long. I also love ginger so this cocktail is perfect for me! This is a wonderful cocktail for a warm summer evening, but if you steep it for 20 minutes remove the teabags add the vodka and you have a lovely warm drink just right for the weather now! Hot or cold you can leave out the vodka and have a toasty warm or refreshing cold non-alcoholic beverage! Cheers!

Ginger Infused Vodka and Lemongrass Green Tea

8 cups water

1 stalk lemongrass (half reserved for garnish)

10 thin slices of fresh ginger

7 bags green tea (white tea also works nicely)

2 cups ginger infused vodka

In a two quart saucepan place water, lemongrass and ginger. Bring to a rolling boil and remove from heat. Add teabags and let steep for 20 minutes. Remove teabags, lemongrass and ginger and let cool completely or overnight in the refrigerator. When ready to serve fill a large pitcher with ice and the vodka. Add the tea and mix well. Serve in glasses garnished with a lemon grass stalk.
