The newly opened Oakfire in Sherman Oaks will be offering a matzoh crust pizza specially prepared for the week of Passover.

Century City’s Take A Bao will be taking over Kung Pao Bistro in Studio City with a targeted opening date in August or September 2011. Owner Brent Stein says it’ll be the “first freestanding Take A Bao with a larger menu” — with baos full of all kinds of stuffings, rice bowls, noodles and more. According to Stein, they will have a seasoned chef from New York who is retooling the menu with a price point which will remain affordable (nothing over $14), as well as an extensive beer and wine program and parking for 20 plus cars. They will be doing a massive overhaul of the space led by architect and interior designer Ana Henton of Mass Architecture. Construction is set to commence in a couple weeks.

Chipotle Mexican Grill is celebrating its new kids menu (ages 10 and under) by offering a free kid’s meal every Saturday and Sunday through May 1 with an adult purchase of a burrito, salad, burrito bowl or an order of tacos. The kid’s menu is priced from $2.95 to $3.95 with a choice of small quesadilla, single taco or a taco kit with a drink and chips.

Stonefire Grill now has a healthy alternatives menu featuring entree salads, pizza, salmon and chicken dishes that contain 500 calories or less per serving.

Yogurtland is celebrating its five-year anniversary from April 15 to 19.  As a thank you, starting on Monday, April 11, participating Yogurtland stores will hand out a Fan Pass to customers. The Fan Passes can then be redeemed to enjoy 2 oz of free frozen yogurt each day from April 15 – 19. Customers who use the Fan Pass three times during this period will receive a special Yogurtland cooler as a gift . Yogurtland is also offering guests a special, limited time edition purple spoon during the anniversary celebration.

Sorry to hear about your experience at Kung Pao. We’ve never had a bad meal there and been going there for over a decade. Fortunately for us, they’ve moved just down the street and are as tasy as ever.
