The pink caboose has landed on Lankershim and Magnolia.  There’s a new Phil’s Diner opening in Noho on Wednesday with new owners Casey and Malissa Hallenbeck.  The former Phil’s Diner (on Chandler Blvd.) which opened in 1920, closed more than a decade ago due to the Metro construction.  The new version has the caboose plus more space and and will feature diner fare with food ingredients sourced locally and organically and be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beer and wine will be available.

There’s a very exciting new scrumptious bottled ready-to-drink iced coffee in town. Wolfgang Puck has upped the ante on his bottled coffee and has introduced a new line that is cold brewed, certified organic and kosher with 2.5 grams of fat and only 120 calories a serving.  There are currently four flavors available— Café au Lait, Vanilla Fusion, Crème Caramel and Double Blend Mocha. They’re available at Gelsons, Whole Foods and a number of CVS stores.  Click here to find this fave drink.

I just went to a Private Event at ” OTIS JACKSON’S SOUL DOGS” in North Hollywood on Lankershim (just next to Starbucks and XMA).

IT WAS THE THE BEST HOT DOG I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! I had their version of sauerkraut and my friend had the Soul Dog. We both were completely amazed at how all the tastes came together and it was fresh and clean.
Each bite was as amazing as the first!!!! Really-
My son loved the Mac N Cheese (he never eats it).

These guys know how to get your palet TURNED ON!! I can’t wait to go back on Tuesday when they open…I have my eye on the Chicken and Hot Water Corn Bread-

Oh yeah, Affordable and will not break the bank….good for you comfort food and affordable!!!! These guys are doing it right-

The inside is well done, clean and comfortable. Staff is totally well trained, nice and friendly.
Better get there early, the buzz it hot and when I was there, the line was starting out the door!
