Chi Dynasty just opened its third location at the Americana at Brand in Glendale. Distinguishing The Americana at Brand’s location from its orginal location in Los Feliz and its second in Studio City, is the restaurant’s entry way. Folding glass doors can be opened to create a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor seating. The Americana at Brand location also offers a full bar and liquor license. And just like the other locations, there will be no fortune cookies — that’s an American invention!
The Valley Inn in Sherman Oaks is welcoming the season of Beaujolais Nouveau, a very special French wine, with a four course wine dinner on November 17 for $45.95 per person (including wine). Start with either steamed mussels with cream in a garlic wine sauce or escargot bourguignion (snails in garlic parsley butter served over puff pastry), followed by salad d’epinards (spinach and romaine garnished with blue cheese, grapes and candied walnuts drizzled with champagne vinaigrette); for the entree choose grilled filet mignon in a rich black peppercorn brandy cream sauce, roasted duck with orange demi-glaze sauce or salmon sauteed with Belgium endive, shallots, white wine and lemon butter. Enjoy almond coated brie drizzled with raspberry sauce for dessert.
Spumante in Noho and Opolo Vineyards from Paso Robles are presenting five course wine pairing dinner for $79 per person on November 17 at 7 p.m. The event will be hosted by Gourmet Wine Getaways and wine consultant Peter Kerr. The menu includes bruschetta; lobster ravioli with tomato, lobster & brandy sauce; fresh sand dabs, served in a cherry tomato sauce with carrot puree; filet mignon in a red wine reduction, served with fresh mushrooms and scallop potatoes, Spumante’s cheese cake with strawberry sauce, and coffee or tea.
