The Epicure Imports Warehouse Sale

Springtime at the Adobe: See and feed the baby animals. Egg Hunt begins at 2 p.m, Tortilla Making, Crafts & Games, Wool Spinning and Weaving demonstrations, Live Music by Craig Newton Admission: Members – Free; Adult Non-members – $4; Child Non-members – $2, (Save $5 on a Family Membership with Money Mailer coupon). Tickets may be purchased online or at the Leonis Adobe Museum Office. Where/When: Leonis Adobe Museum, 23537 Calabasas Road, Calabasas, Saturday, March 31, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Egg-Stravagana in Calabasas: It’s great Easter fun for the kids. Egg hunt (different times for respective ages) and petting zoo, candy, prizes, bunny hop games and crafts. When/Where: Saturday, March 31, 10 a.m. to noon., Grape Arbor Park, 5100 Parkville Rd., Calabasas. Admission is free; pictures with the Easter bunny, $5. Refreshments for sale.

Pop Up to Fight Poverty: Support local artisans this weekend at the  “Handmade Galleries LA Pop-Up To Fight Poverty” event at Whole Foods in Tarzana.  There will be more than a dozen artists and craftspeople showcasing and selling an extraordinary array of uniquely handcrafted jewelry, fine art, soy candles, vintage upcycled serveware, handmade organic soaps, and other wonderfully eclectic gift items. Vendors include London Manori, Green Art Designs, ERS Creative Jewelry, Helena Rose Art, Table Whimsy, M. Carlesimo, aluminart, Zelda’s Fine Art, Mad Mark’s Leather & Treasures, A.R.T Gallery, and more! The artists are donating a portion of the proceeds from their sales to the 2012 Whole Planet Foundation Prosperity Campaign, which provides micro-credit loans to women in developing countries so they can start home based businesses to help  bring their families and communities out of poverty. When/Where: Saturday, March 31, noon-4 p.m., Whole Foods Tarzana, 18700 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana.

Good Food Day LA: This is a city (and valley) wide event dedicated to learning about, celebrating and volunteering to strengthen our local food system.Nearly forty event sites, bringing together thousands of volunteers and participants, will be engaged in activities around the city. Volunteer opportunities will include garden plantings and cooking demonstrations, neighborhood cooking competitions, CalFresh sign-ups at farmers markets, and food policy trainings and education. Where/Where: Saturday, March 31 at various locations around the 818 and Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Youth Orchestra:  Enjoy a full  symphony, including the works of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Bartok,  Mendelssohn, and more.  Also featuring  18 year old flutist Kyra Sweeney, who  has been blind since birth.  Although it’s not unique for a blind musician to be able play an instrument, it is unique for a blind musician to play in an orchestra because she can’t see the conductor. She’ll be performing “Night Soliloquy” for flute and orchestra by Ken Kennan with the Los Angeles Youth Orchestra. Performances: Sunday, April 1,  4 p.m., Milken Community High School, 15800 Zeldins’ Way at Mulholland Drive, Los Angeles; Monday, April 2, 7:30 p.m., Zipper Hall at the Colburn School, 220 S.
