For fun I have been looking up vintage cocktail recipes. This week I have chosen the roaring 20’s most popular September Morn! The cocktail culture of this era was all about decadence and fun, and this drink has both qualities. The citrus makes a fine counterpoint to the vanilla and almond of the rum, with the sweetness of the grenadine and the velvet of the egg white blending seamlessly in this lively sip. So throw on some 1920’s tunes and have a roaring good time!
September Morn Cocktail
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons grenadine
White of 1 egg
5 ounces Bacardi rum
Shake all ingredients in a shaker with ice until frothy (1-2 minutes), strain into two-chilled martini glasses.
