Whole Foods in Tarzana  has a wine bar where you can sit down and meet up with friends.  Purchase prepared foods to enjoy along with your wine or if you’re craving a steak or seafood, they’ll even cook it up and serve it to you. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-10 p.m.  In addition to daily tastings, there’s special events happening, such as  a champagne tasting  this Thursday, October 25 from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. that will feature four champagnes from Devaux for $15 a person.

Bow & Truss in North Hollywood now serves lunch Tuesday to Saturday. The Latin-inspired menu includes a rich array of tacos by Chef Stefhanie Meyers — including grilled seabass tacos, with pickled carrot slaw, and chicken confit tacos, confit in duck fat with anchovies — and also open-faced bocadillos, sandwiches topped with crab, pulled chicken, grilled seabass and cheesy jamon.

Mario Reyes from The Gipsy Kings will be appearing at D’Cache in Toluca Lake on October 25 , 27 and November 1 and 3.  While you’re there, check out some of the new fall special dishes, including Brazilian Grilled Shrimp with Mango Sauce, Vegetarian Paella and Mussels prepared with fennel and sweet chili.  Call 818.506.9600 for reservations.

LA Beer Hop has partnered with Mohawk Bend, Tony’s Darts Away and The Pub at Golden Road Brewing to launch a new shuttle route, ferrying hop-heads to some of LA’s best beer bars. Every Wednesday in November, from 7pm to midnight hitch a ride for $5. Hop on and off as you please and enjoy perks like select beers for $4, complimentary snacks, and even some surprise swag! The first shuttle will depart from Mohawk Bend at 7pm. Burger and football fan alert!  Happy Hour on Monday nights at all Daily Grill locations now features the $4 Burger during football season. Enjoy the half pound certified Angus beef burger, ground in-house daily. Also featuring other favorites like $2 fries,  $3 wings and drink specials!

Jennifer Evans Gardner, co-author of Meringue, is now offering a series of cooking classes from her Little Feet in the Kitchen. The Halloween classes are this weekend — Saturday, October 27 from 9 a.m. – noon (ages 6-12) – $60 and Sunday, October 28 1:00-4:00 p.m. (11-16) – $60. Kids will learn how to make Pumpkin ravioli, Meringue “ghosts” and Blood Orange Spider Punch.
