The Local Peasant is expanding to Woodland Hills.

Sherman Oaks’ The Local Peasant is expanding to  a second location in Woodland Hills this February.  Co-owner Karl Makinen says that it will be very similar to the Sherman Oaks location except they will feature 27 craft tap beers and a glass walk-in keg cooler in the middle of the restaurant. Their emphasis on seasonal. local ingredients will remain key to the eats menu which includes bar snacks, salads, burgers and main dishes such a fish & chips, short ribs, chicken stew and more.  Their bar menu that includes ‘prohibition’ themed cocktails. The Local Peasant will be located at 22901 Ventura Blvd in the former Casa De Carlos space (just west of Fallbrook).

Legendary Henry’s Tacos now open for two more weeks.

Fans of Henry’s Tacos in Studio City still have until January 15 to grab a bite.  The original December 31 closing date has been extended in hopes of a possible new ownership.

Over in Canoga Park, the oldest family run business in the 818 is closing.  Sierra’s Cafe which originally opened as Ed Sierra’s Spanish Cafe in 1932 is shutting its doors and their adjacent Mission Burrito. For more about the story, check out this Daily News article.

Numero Uno in Encino closed on October 31 after 35 years in business. Opening in its place this coming March is Poquito Mas with its seventh location in the 818. If you have a craving for Numero Uno’s deep dish pizza, you can find it at their other locations here.

Across the street at the corner of  Ventura and Rubio in Encino,  Fatburger will move into the former Baja Fresh location.

IHOP is bringing back its All-You-Can-Eat pancake deal today through January 27.  Order a pancake combo featuring eggs any style, crispy hash browns, and a choice of pork sausage links, crisp bacon or ham — or order a stack of five buttermilk pancakes as a main course. When the pancakes are gone, get an additional serving of two pancakes…and when those are gone…keep on ordering as long as  you can eat them.

Yogurtland has three new limited time flavors:  Raspberry Banana Greek Yogurt features fresh  raspberries and bananas; Guava Grapefruit Sorbet, a non-dairy sorbet that’s touted to have a full day’s supply of Vitamin C in an 8 oz. serving; Hazelnut Latte Fro-Yo is sugar-free and uses real hazelnut butter with the rich taste of coffee.
