No Roses Gallery: It’s a party all weekend long at No Roses Gallery in Sherman Oaks. They’ll have complementary sweets and drinks Friday  through Sunday. Stop by to check out their new artisan jewelry collections.  On Friday, their new visual art exhibit opens — “Lines in the Universe” is a series of black, white and color drawings by Los Angeles fine artist Darien Donner. The show also includes interactive (video) visitor participation. Fire Service Open House Day: On Saturday, May 11, a Fire Service Day Open House (from 10am to 4pm) will be conducted at all Los Angeles County fire stations. Visit your local fire stations to learn more about the services the Department has to offer. Find a Fire Station near you.  Fire Stations will have special activities for all ages.

Help CHAMPS Build A School in Africa:  Enjoy live music, a “silent”auction, art auctions, food & drinks, and all the coffee you want (or need) — and in doing so help support local teens from CHAMPS Charter High School accomplish their goal of traveling to Malawi (Africa) to help construct a school. Help these students make a difference in the lives of people who do not yet have access to something we all too often take for granted — an education.  It all happens on Saturday from 5:30 p.m.- 11 p.m.   $10 at the door.  North Hollywood First Christian Church. 4390 Colfax Avenue, Studio City.  If you can’t make it on Saturday, check out the fundraising page here. 

Murder Mystery Night: Come to Leonis Adobe Museum in Calabasas for a night of “murder, mystery and mayhem” and a dinner “to die for” on  Saturday, May 11th, at 6:30 p.m. Catered dinner and a two-act play giving clues for you to discuss and solve with other guests. Studio City/Sherman Oaks Rotary Club Art Show: There’s handcrafted art and crafts perfect for gift giving, especially with mothers in mind. Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Moorpark Park in Studio City (Northeast corner of Laurel Canyon Blvd. and Moorpark St.)

Unique LA Spring Show:  It’s so worth the drive to the  largest independent-design show in the country. There will be over  350 designers and artisans showing their wares  at California Market Center downtown. Workshops, a cafe serving up dishes from local food trucks and restaurants, special giveaways and more. 11 a.m.–6 p.m. each day . $10. California Market Center, 110 E. 9th St.
