Lucky Cat: The popular cat is back at No Roses Gallery with another photo exhibition of the iconic Lucky Cat by New York City photographer Sheri Lynn Behr.  Lucky Cat, also known as Maneki Neko or Beckoning Cat are accompanied at the gallery by her book LUCKY CATS, which includes some of the images on exhibit. Most of the photographs in the exhibition were taken in New York, but Lucky Cats from Los Angeles and other cities in the US are represented as well.

Chinatown Summer Nights:   Food, music and culture merge at Chinatown Summer Nights this Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight. Taste the many culinary offerings of Chinatown and LA’s gourmet food trucks; sample the neighborhood’s wares; watch Chinese chefs perform cooking demonstrations; experience large-scale, outdoor video projections; take part in hands-on, Chinese cultural activities presented by local organizations and museums; sip on craft brews and dance in Central Plaza with 89.9 KCRW’s DJ’s.  This is the first event this summer. The next event is August 17.

West Hollywood Green Weekend: The City of West Hollywood is going “Green” again for one weekend with two very special “Green” activities to get everyone motivated to clear out their clutter, recycle some lost treasures, and pocket a little money along the way. The City’s environmentally friendly “WehoGrnWknd” (West Hollywood Green Weekend) will feature a City-Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21.  The City of West Hollywood will also sponsor a free Document Shredding and Electronic Waste Collection on Saturday, July 20, 2013 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West Hollywood City Hall, 8300 Santa Monica Boulevard. For more information, contact the City of West Hollywood’s Office of Environmental Services at (323) 848-6404.

Concerts on the Lawn:  The  season of outdoor concerts continues at this private home in Toluca Lake.  This Sunday,  singer/songwriter Maia Sharp will be performing for a very special LA show. If you haven’t heard her – you’re  probably familiar with her songs … “Home” by The Dixie Chicks, “Say Anything” by Edwin McCain, and collaborations with Bonnie Raitt, Art Garfunkel, Don Was for starters. BYOC (bring your own lawn chair) and be prepared to chill out under the trees. Suggested donation for this show is $10, cash preferred. Kids are free! For an extra $5 (total $15), you can pre pay via Paypal and have a lawn chair of your own reserved and waiting for you, front row seating. Side gate opens at 4:30 p.m.and the lawn will be totally shaded by then. Street parking is available.

Starlight Bowl: Enjoy a picnic and music with Ozomatli, who  have gone from hometown heroes to being named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors. Their music – a notorious urban-Latino-and-beyond collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LAR&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga and Indian reggae. July 21, Gates open at 4:30 p.m.  Music starts at 6:30 p.m. Starlight Bowl, 1249 Lockheed View Dr., Burbank. Adults: $10 Children (3-12): $6 Seniors (60+)/Disabled: $6 Children 2 and under free (excluding box seats) Tickets purchased at the gate on the evening of the performance will be an additional $2 per ticket.
