Community Child Anti-Abduction Initiative Spearheaded by Local Martial Arts School

Woodland Hills, CA, April 2013 – Mohamad Tabatabai, Owner of American Kenpo Jiu Jitsu Academy, announced that the Academy has joined with a Personal Security Expert to conduct FREE Programs and distribute materials to educate the public about the importance of learning Anti-Abduction strategies and other fundamental safety and awareness issues.

“Child Abduction continues to be a growing problem in many communities,” said Master Tabatabai. “Our Academy is lending its support to fight child abduction in our community through this awareness campaign and an emphasis on self-defense and physical fitness for children, teens, women and men. Having the skills to defend yourself are the best proactive tools any child, woman—or man—can learn to reduce the likelihood of being a victim.”

According to studies, said Master Tabatabai, Every 40 seconds in the United States, a child becomes missing or is abducted. For that reason, we as community leaders are promoting that our children are educated about this issue at an early age.

“Self-defense training is one of the core traditions of our school’s curriculum, helping children to develop their physical and mental conditioning to remain in control and confident, whenever that training may need to be used,” said Mr. Tabatabai. “Students also learn awareness skills, so they’re able to analyze situations, environments and individuals to reduce the opportunities for attacks, while increasing the number of escapes or optional methods of self defense.”
