Artists have always used techniques and mediums which often times defined their art. Even cave paintings reveal the nuances of mixing fats, vegetable juice, crushed quartz and animal bones to adhere and enhance the pigments.

The San Fernando Valley Arts Council and the Valley Arts Alliance invite you to experience this special exhibit which is based on a theme of artists expressing their thoughts on the techniques and mediums that make their art so engaging.  Each selected artist has written about their experiences with certain types of techniques and/or mediums that have made a lasting impression on themselves as well as their art.

The exhibit opens on March 4 through March 16, 2013 at the Canoga Park Youth Arts Center, 7222 Remmet Avenue, Canoga Park, CA 91303 and is open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.  An artists’ reception takes place on March 9, from 6-9 pm and will include poetry reading by Dori Marler and James Maverick.  Guitarist, Thom Dower will also be part of the entertainment at the reception.  The public is welcome.  Please visit us at www.sfvartscouncil.com.
