The Snake Can: Playwright Kathryn Graf, a San Fernando Valley resident, follows up her critically acclaimed hit Hermetically Sealed,  with the world premiere  of The Snake Can at The Odyssey Theater in West Los Angeles.  Well-known television stars Jane Kaczmarek and Gregory Harrison star in this dramedy that centers around three successful middle-aged women: a widow and mother who is dipping  her toes into dating (Kaczmarek); a recently divorced woman  (Diane Cary) who left her actor husband (Harrison) to pursue her independence; and  a childless two-time divorcee who’s been single for ten years  (Sharon Sharth).  The play, directed by  Steven Robman,  also  stars James Lancaster and Joel Polis.  Graf,  a widow who raised two sons,  says she wrote the play  very much out of personal experience.  Her characters travel a road of self-discovery through marriage, divorce, friendship, single life , computer dating, sexuality and re-invention that brings laughter, insightful commentary and a sense of melancholy to a stage that is comfortably and energetically filled  by the cast.   The Snake  Can plays Thursday-Sunday through February 24.
